2 Bad days followed by 1 GREAT day!!

{Bad day #1:}

I fell into a manhole. Or water main hole... whatever you want to call it. Long story short-er {not possible for me}...we were outside grilling and Aiden and I were flying his kite. I ran into the neighbor's yard, because it is more open than ours, and while not paying attention to where I was running I stepped on the lid of the hole and fell in. Scared the living sh*t out of me and it hurt like a b*tch. Sorry for the choice of words, but that is honestly how it went down. I've never been so scared and mad all at the same time.  Mike was watching us the whole time but had gone inside for a minute. Aiden was running right behind me and I just thank GOD it wasn't him. The lid wasn't properly on the hole so when I stepped on it, the lid went into the hole, and so did I. I immediately jumped out of the hole and ran inside. I thought it went straight to the sewer and didn't even want to look down into what I fell into. I went inside screaming at Mike to go look!! He said it was like a 3-4 foot drop that just had a water line in it. {whatever, there was totally sewage and rats and alligators down there} Thank god one of us can remain calm. All I could think of was what if that was Aiden or another kid in the neighborhood.... flash backs of Rescue 911 episodes were all over in my mind. {remember that show??!! I feel bad for you if you don't ;) }

I tried to find pics on-line of what I fell in but nothing looks like the one in our neighbors yard... and I am NOT going back over there to take pics. Wonder if they (the neighbors) saw me fall... if they exist...I've NEVER seen them.

I had some pretty wicked bruises to show for it...

2 large, nasty bruises. One on the outside of my leg and one on the inside. This was the leg that fell in the hole, while the other one just crashed into the edge of the lid. The pics don't do them justice, they were so sick! And now they are finally healing and itch like no other! ha!

We're just so thankful it wasn't Aiden!! I still need to call the city and report it... there are too many kids in the neighborhood!

{Bad day #2:}

So the fall was Sunday and around noon on Monday I get an email from Mike. Wish I had it still but I can't find it in my email.. let me try to re create it...

Subject: Look who made CJ online

Let me preface this by saying it was not my fault and she got a ticket.

Talk to you tonight.

Mike

reaaallllllly Mike??!! You're just going to nonchalantly email me at NOON about a wreck you had been in??!!! I could kill him sometimes... ;)

Thankfully it was really minor and no one was hurt. Apparently there was construction and a lane ahead was closing.. a semi needed over and everyone had so slam on their brakes. Mike got hit by the lady behind him {that swore it was NOT her fault, that it was the semi trucks fault, and never apologized to mike once, rude.} The jeep has minor damage on the back left side that will be getting repaired.

Just glad everyone is okay!

{The GREAT Day!!}

So after a rough Sunday/Monday the week had to get better... and it did!! :)

Sarah and Derek finally announced to everyone that they are prego!!! Yayyyyyyyyy :) :) :)
They had their second sonogram Wednesday, April 18th and asked me to come over that night to take pics for them :)

I've known for too long, like before she missed her period!! (sorry TMI.) It has been SO hard keeping it in!! You can read about their story here & here. They didn't have the easiest time getting pregnant so this little bean is truly a blessing!! She is 10 weeks and since they've had 2 sonograms and heard his/her strong little heart beat both times, it seemed pretty safe to announce the news. We are beyond excited!! Sarah and Derek will be THE BEST parents ever and I can not wait to spoil my nephew/niecey rotten. So happy they live right up the street from us!! Im moving in guys!! :) :)

So with the bad there is always good... such is LIFE :)

{Easter 2012}

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! It was a bit hectic so we weren't able to travel back to Hanover like we usually do. I had to work Saturday, plus I had a baby shower for my friend Brie and Easter happened to fall on my mama's birthday so we decided to celebrate in KC and invite the family to come to us! We were sad we didn't get to see Mike's family but are excited for his parents to visit this coming weekend!

 Only thing missing was the Hall family :( They stayed in El Dorado to celebrate with Josh's family.

Mike had off Friday (lucky dog!) and spent the afternoon and evening making scoreboards for his corn hole boards. He is so meticulous and quite the perfectionist when it comes to his "projects."  It always pays off because they turned out great!! He really needs to start selling those things...they are AWESOME! Aiden wanted to help daddy out...they both had drills {aiden's was a toy of course} and it was SO cute! :)

Saturday I had to work in the morning then headed straight to a shower for Brie and her baby girl Aubrey. It was a beautiful shower and they ended up with a ton of PINK!!! Yay for girls!

{love shopping for little girls!!}

Saturday evening we all went over to my moms to have dinner and let Aiden dye eggs! Of course the boys {and my mom} had to put the new scoreboards to use and played quite a few games of corn hole.

Sunday morning Aiden decided to "sleep in" for once and Mike and I were awake just twiddling our thumbs waiting for him to get up. Growing up the Easter bunny always hid our baskets and that is a tradition I want to continue with Aiden. I knew he wouldn't know to LOOK for his basket so the Easter Bunny left him a little trail to it. Aiden walked right past the eggs when he woke up! silly boy!! Once we pointed him in the direction he was super excited!! He found his basket and was SO pumped about his goodies... and eating candy at 8am :)

The Easter bunny brought Aiden the movie HOP, an Iron Man tervis tumbler, an Iron Man figurine (think he likes Iron Man??!!) a Transformers spin brush, swim trunks, flip flops and of course a little candy.

I was lazy Sunday morning and instead of getting up and ready while Aiden slept, I laid in bed doing nothing :) Then I realized if I went to the 9am church I wouldn't have time to cook my sides in time for lunch. So I was bad and sent the boys off to church with out me and stayed home to cook and get ready.

 After they got home we headed to Sarah's for the rest of the afternoon. Nana Jana totally outdid herself and spoiled her grand babies rotten!

 Happy Birthday Nana!!

This is when I stopped taking pics :( I'm SO horrible at that!! My grandparents came, my brother and his fiance and his little bro Noah (big brothers/big sisters) as well as my aunt, uncle and cousins. It was a BLAST!! There is never a dull moment with this family :)

Noah is such a sweet heart and kept Aiden entertained all day... so glad he got to spend Easter with us!

{I put money in some of the eggs and he's trying to put the change in his back pocket. ha!}

We spent ALL afternoon and evening outside on Sarah and Derek's deck... it was glorious!!
Even the pups had a little too much fun :)

We hope you all had a great Easter too!!

Let the pictures do the talking...

It's too early for me to do much writing this morning so I'll just leave you with some pics to sum up our last two weekends! Enjoy!

Disney on Ice:

We had SO much fun at Disney on Ice!! It was extra special that we got to take Grandma Linda with us!

 {please excuse his nacho cheese face}

Peter Pan was Aiden's Favorite! But if you ask him now if he liked Disney on Ice he'll tell you yes but "it was just a wittle scary"- referring to the crocodile in Peter Pan. Silly boy.

{This was the little Mermaid..it was MY favorite!!}

Grandma Linda got Aiden a sword! He was in heaven!!

Easter Egg Hunt:

 My brother and one of his loan officers put on an Easter egg hunt for their clients this past weekend... it was at the most GORGEOUS park we've seen since moving to KC! We'll definitely be heading back there!

Aiden had a ton of fun gathering eggs and opening them to see what was inside! Auntie Sarah came along with us and we all had a great time. Thanks Tony and Jennifer!!
