Thursday: Things I'm Lovin!

My sweet friend Heather said she would do Thursdays:Things Im Lovin! And I thought that was a great idea! I might change my button to say that or just wait and see how many thursdays I actually do it! So here it goes...

Do you have a Scentsy?!?! If not, find a seller and get one NOW!! Scentsy Warmers use a low-watt bulb to melt specially formulated wax slowly, maximizing the fragrance time of the Scentsy Bar or Scentsy Brick.  I especially love them because they are flame-less and if you're like me, a person who has left a candle burning countless times you need one of these. If you forget to turn it off, its no big deal! Plus the fragrences are amazing!! My dad and Kelley bought mine for my birthday. My dad told me to just use one bar or the smell is too strong. When have I ever listened to my dad ;) I threw in 2 bars and (as usual) Dad was right.... GAG!! The smell was good but WOW! So now I just use one bar and it lasts F.O.R.E.V.E.R

Funny story actually... I was getting sick of the scent I had been using since I got the Scentsy (In January) so I turned the warmer on to melt the wax then when it was all liquid I poored it down the kitchen sink. I figured it would melt the trash bag so the trash can wasn't an option. I didn't even think twice about it. It wasn't until I was doing dishes later that afternoon, water just kept rising in the sink, and the garbage disposal wasn't  helping at all, I realized maybe I had done something wrong. OOPS! Mike was out of town doing training for work and I didn't want to add to his stress level at all so I did nothing for a few hours. I was secretly hoping it'd fix itself :) Otherwise I was just going to call a plumber and pay for it. Well my brother was coming over to go with me and pick up a kitchen table so when he got there I told him what had happened. He proceeded to tell me to get a bucket as he cleaned out underneath the sink to start working on the pipes. I was like ummmm Tony do you know what your doing?? He said "I've seen this done on tv before." WHAT!?!? I had no faith, but low and behold he knew exactly what he was doing and fixed it! You should have seen the huge chunk of wax that had completely plugged the pipe. It was huge. I said... atleast it smells good :) He wasn't amused! My brother is a saint... Realtor by day, plumber by night! HA!

So anyways back to the Scensty... they are great! I still buy candles but there is really no need for them, the scentsy smells up the whole house! I need some new yummy scents for fall/winter.  I also want a few new warmers to switch it up alittle. This Fall one is CUTE. Mine is simple and can be out year round. I love it. I really want to invest in some of the plug ins too!!

Go getcha one!

2:: HomeGoods!!

This place is the bomb.com :) Since we dont own a home yet I dont want to put too much money into decorating. Who knows how I will decorate our house some day so why spend $$$ on things you dont know if you'll use again. Enter HomeGoods...
I have been there countless times since we've moved to KC. I haven't bought ALOT but I look alot and have a list of a ton of things I want. Its so inexpensive and the quality is good! These stores are usually attached or around a Marshalls. Another store I like. I found Aiden the CUTEST pair of Levis jeans there for $10 last week. LOVE*

Also if you in to decorating for seasons or holidays why spent a lot of money for items that you see for a month out of the year! Here are a few purchases I have made lately...

I bought some table mats, an apothecary jar and fallish bulbs and balls for inside of it. Im OBSESSED with all apothecary right now and plan on going back soon to buy ALL their jars. You can use them for SO many things!

And the other item was a polka dot pumpkin :)

To make matters worse... its RIGHT up the street from us. Ugh oh! :)

There is always some sort of product/item Im lovin for Aiden! These crayola bath markers have really come in handy!

He has always loved bath time! But he LOVES to color but is still at a young age that he colors on everything is your not watching his every little move. When I saw these I knew he'd enjoy them and I didn't have to worry about where all he'd use them :) Lately since I've been home with Aiden and Mike has been working its been diffucult showering and getting ready. Aiden wants to be RIGHT in the bathroom with me and it takes me hours instead of 45 min because im constantly grabbing brushes, make-up, hairspray and keeping him away from my straightener. So the other day I plopped him in the bath and gave him his markers while I proceeded to get ready. Worked like a charm! I could watch him and get ready and he was having a BLAST coloring all over the walls of the bath tub. It was great. He might have been a wrinkly old man by the time he was done but he was happy and threw a fit when I made him get out! They wipe right off with a wet wash cloth which is nice as well. Ill probably get him the bath drops and bath crayons once these are done... I'm a fan Crayola. Thank you.

And of course Im ALWAYS lovin this lil guy :)

Happy Thursday!

Day On The Farm!

Yesterday we visited the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead! I have been wanting to Aiden for awhile but was waiting for the weather to get a little cooler and it was something I wanted to do as a family. Well the weather has been warmer than expected and Mike has been busy with his new job and traveling for some training so we hadn't been able to take him together. I start my new job on Monday so I've been wanting to do things with Aiden this week that I wont be able to do once I go back to work. (sad face!!) So I called my sister Sarah to see if she, and the twin boys she nannies for, wanted to join us for a day at the farmstead.

It was a beautiful day! The farm is amazing and we will be going back with Mike soon. We didn't get to do the hay ride and pumpkin patch since we had the babies with us but there was still SO much for Aiden to enjoy and he did! I have never seen him run so fast in my life. I honestly thought he was going to fall flat on his face because he was getting so far in front of himself when he would run! He just didn't know WHAT to do with himself. It was so nice to just let him go and run and play and scream and talk as loud as he wanted too! Im diggin ALL activites that dont require him to be held or in a stroller and me not having to shhhh! him at all times. This place was Heaven on Earth  :)

Im glad sarah came with us even though she has her hands full with the twins! We both can't wait to go back when our other sister visits and take my niece and nephew too!

The farm is absolutely beautiful. My favorite part was the butterfly garden. Pretty flowers, brick paths, a tiny house...so cute! Im not sure what Aiden's favorite part was, he LOVED it all! Next time we will go all out and feed the goats and ducks, take the wagon ride, watch them milk the cow, fish and visit the ice cream parlor! (Im still sad we didn't do that yesterday, but we hadn't even had lunch. Im always thinking about food! ha!)

We can't wait to go back many many many more times! I hope one day Aiden remembers this place as a fond childhood memory! You can never have enough of those!

Here are some pics of our day at Deanna Rose::

Things I'm Lovin!

Okay so I've been thinking for awhile about changing my blog title. Since I'm not creative at all and can't think of anything at this moment I'm just going to keep it the same. BUT.... I always want to post about so many things, but since the blog its called "all about aiden... always," I feel like I  can only post about him and things involving him.

I decided I need to get over that and just write about whatever I want to and people can read it if they want!

So the first thing I'm doing is "Things I'm Lovin!" I have been wanting to do this for awhile but not sure how to go about it. Well I created the button but I'm still not sure how to let people "link up." I might just leave it as a button and if people want to grab it and do a post then they can! Im sure NO ONE will... or maybe just my sisters but I think I'm going to have fun with it :)

I'm always using new products of all types,trying new recipes, finding new web sites, new clothes, new stuff for aiden,  good deals... SO MANY THINGS that I want to share with the world (or my 15 followers!ha!) Well now when I find something fun and want to share then Ill just post my button and talk about the item or items! Seriously it can be ANYTHING you want! I am the queen of random so this could get interesting but I think it will be fun if I actually stick with it. And I encourage everyone to do the same thing! I love hearing where people are shopping, what they're reading, cooking, wearing, what shows you like, movies, cars, decorating tips, blogs you follow, etc!!!

Now that I got this post done talking about my new idea I'll wait for tomorrow to actually do the first "Things I'm Lovin"  post :) Two in one day... yea right, I'm ready for bed! ha!

This could be a huge flop and maybe Ill do one and be done... we'll see!

Good night!!

Upcoming Events!

I think I speak for everyone when I say this is the BEST time of year! Im pretty sure all of you ar e just as obsessed with Fall as I am. There is nothing better than cooler weather, (which we haven't experienced much of yet!) football, warm comfort food, jeans, pumpkin patches, fall candles... I could go on and on and on!

Here are some upcoming events this Fall that Im getting excited for!

:: My cousin Kayla's wedding, bachelorette party and the FUN bridal shower we're planning for her!

 Im obsessed with the theme we picked and I'm having so much fun looking for decorations and cute ideas for it. Here is a sneak peak! Click to enlarge the collage!

:: Pumpkin patches!

We will definitely be hitting the one up in El Dorado again ... Walter's Pumpkin Patch! We had a blast at it last year and Im extremely excited for this year. Aiden really enjoyed it but I know now that he is older he will love it even more! This is us last year... (once again CLICK to enlarge!)

KC has tons of pumpkin patches, corn mazes, fall festivals etc. Here are some we'd like to check out!
* Louisburg Cider Mill-  Cider fest, Craft fair, pumpkin patch!
*Lenexa Chili Challenge- YUM!  We're so there!
*Haunted maze and tractor pull- Paradise Park looks like a blast!

:: HALLOWEEN!!!

 One of my favorite holidays!!

Our little monkey last year!!

It's been so hard to choose a costume this year! Last year I knew exactly what I wanted, we have always called him our little monkey and I fell in love with a monkey costume online. Of course the amazing grandma Linda offered to make it and I was so in love! It was beyond perfect and it being hand made by her makes it so much more special. Maybe he should just wear it again this year... that's how much I love it!! But really its been tough to choose this year so here's what Im thinking...

Cowboy Aiden!

Ha!! How cute is all that?!?! Im obsessed. Once again the amazing linda is going to make his chaps and vest... I can't wait to see it! The reason I chose this was really to kill two birds with one stone.

Here's why... since Aiden's birthday is 12/12 and Harper's is 12/9 we are going to do a joint 1st/2nd birthday party for them! The theme are planning on doing is lil buckaroo!! I wanted to do this for Aiden's first birthday but thought he was too young so I knew for sure I'd do it for his second. So he can wear his halloween get up again for his birthday party! And just wait til you see what we have in mind for
 ms. harper ellison... tutu, tights, pink boots... omg I DIE! :) But more on that at another time... first things first folks and thats Halloween! He is going to make the cutest cowboys and considering he wears his boots around all day everyday... I think he will love it to!

That's all for now! Can't wait for these fun festivites to begin!

Im baaack!! {Aiden Update!}

So I stayed up until midnight composing this post last night and as I was about done it somehow got deleted! I have no clue what happened, and even though blogger saves the draft every minute or so, it of course saved it a second after I deleted it. I have never been so angry. It was SO long and I had worked so hard on it. I seriously could have thrown the lab top across the room.

Now that i'm done venting about the ordeal I'll get on to more important things...Aiden!  I have SO much to catch you all up on...our move to KC, mike's job and tests, my job seach, our new place...etc! It will have to be composed in a few posts but an Aiden update takes precedent over it all.

I cannot believe in a mere 3 months our BABY BOY is going to be 2 years old!! Where does the time go?!? I also feel so much pressure to have another one because so many girls I shared my pregnancy with are now pregnant with their second! Can you say baby fever!! I love that me and my siblings are 2 yrs apart and always wanted my children the same way. Well that is NOT going to be the case anymore! We have way way way too many things to accomplish before having more kids is even a thought in our minds. And since we are full force into the terrible 2's I tell Aiden daily that he is going to be an only child. :)

Since I have been a horrible blogger I can't even remember when I last updated you all on Aiden. Im going to do the best I can and try to tell you everything he is up to these days!

At 21 months of age Aiden is...

* 32.5 inches tall (31%)
*25 lbs 15oz (37%)
* 50cm head circumference (90%) ba ha ha! Little guy BIG head :)
*Sleeping in his crib from 8pm til 6am (most nights) Taking one nap a day, in the afternoon, 2hrs
*No binky for MONTHS, can't even remember when we got rid of it, just know it was a very easy transition
*Drinking whole milk, usually when he wakes up and with dinner. And ill give it to him for lunch or snack if he wants it
*Pretty good eater. Loves fruit! Eats some vegetables. He eats the best when he's around other kids and sees them eating. I always have a hard time getting him to eat but the babysitter always says he eats great for her so that's good. Breakfast is the hardest. Lately he LOVES yogurt and I gave him cereal WITH milk the other day and although it was a huge mess he gobbled up every little bit. He loves NAKS (snacks!) and will start asking for one at 8am. Stinker. He uses the spoon and fork really well. He really wants to drink out of big boy cups rather than his sippy cups. Sometimes Im nice and will give him water in one but that's its. 95% of the time he spills it. Not ready for that yet but he thinks he is :)

*Doesn't show too much interest in toys anymore. He would rather be outside. His FAVORITE thing to do is color. He has a millions crayons and his favorite are pens. If he sees us using a pen its over. He will say pen! pen! pen! pen! until you give it to him. Needless to say we have crayon marks and pen everywhere. We try to make sure when he is coloring we are watching him really good but he is a sneaky little thing. Goo gone and mr. clean magic erasers usually do the trick so its not the end of the world if there is an accident.

*I have always had a  little magna doodles that I carry in my purse (for restaurants and stuff) and he really likes them so I bought him a Large one and it occupies him for hrs. Mike even said it was a great purchase on my part! (i know... i know...) Other than that his blocks are the only other toy he really plays with. Kind of a bummer since he has a million!

*We got in the bad habit of letting him watch tv in the mornings so he is now obsessed with blues clues and wants to watch it all day long. He will point to the tv and say "clues" and we tell him its not on and he throws a fit. Since we didn't have cable the first 2 weeks in KC we have watched endless amounts of Blues Clues and Elmo on dvd. We have created a monster! Thats ALL he wants to do now. ugh oh!!

*His other favorite "toys" are the remote and our phones. of course. He will carry our phones around saying "hi... good...bye" over and over. Its really cute! And for some reason he always turns the phone around backwords, no clue why. I think he's seen mike put his in his pocket after he gets done using it and Aiden always tries to put it in his pocket when he's done "talking" on it. Its funny.
*He talks alot now. I thought he was a little late talker but I was never worried because he was always "talking" it just didnt' always make sense. But now he jabbers all the time and its still only one to two words but we almost always know what he wants, needs or is saying.

 Here are the things we hear the most... I color, I run, I eat, nak (snack,) cookie, chip, milk, juice, cracker, cup, water, teeth (loves brushing his teeth,) blocks, choo choo, car, cow, dog, cat, elmo, clues, ball, shoe, outside, on, off, I jump, bed, peas (please,) da ba or tu tu (thank you,) up, rek (derek,) nana, papa, mamo, ton (paxton,) joe, go cats, ouch, owie,broke (if something is broke), mommy, dad, ni night, pillow, hi, bye-bye,blanket, yes, no, book, toys, i cold, hot, yum/yummy, drink, wat doin?... the list goes on and on and on. He said a sentence the other night when we were at sarah and derek's for dinner. We were in the kitchen and he was wandering around us and said "sarah wat doin?"  I had never heard him say that! It was adorable. For the most part he can repeat every word I ask him too, he just doesn't use them all the time.

*He can point to his head, nose, ears, teeth, eyes, knees, toes, belly button, hair, mouth, po po

* He can tell you what a dinosaur/alligator (raaaaaa!!!) cow, kitty, monkey, dog, duck say.

*We are working on colors. He can say all of them but if you ask he thinks everything is RED

* Working on counting as well. He loves to count down. If he is running or jumping you will hear him say
2....1! Its so funny. He can count to 3 then I say 4, he says 5, I say 6, he says 7, I say 8 9 and he says 10! ha!

*One night my brother was trying to teach him to spell his name. All day the next day he was walking around saying A... I... and I would say D E and he would say N! Again... so funny!

* He will give high fives and "knucks"

* He will give ANYONE a kiss and If you say I love you he just blows you a kiss. I really want him to say I love you...

* Still in his crib. Not sure when we will make the transition to toddler bed. Since he was a baby he hasn't been the best sleeper so now that he sleeps pretty good we dont want to mess up what we have going! If he knows he can get out of his bed then he will and it is going to be a fight getting him to stay in it and go to sleep.  He has only climbed out of his crib once and I think he learned his lesson that time and hasn't tried since. Im sure after his 2nd birthday we will start discussing it.

*He hasn't really shown any interest in potty training. I told mike I'm going to buy a potty for him and we'll see if he shows any interest then. I dont mind the diapers... not excited at all for the potty training process. So we're not pushing it... yet.

*He is usually in a good mood unless its almost nap time. He can get a bit testy! He has quite the temper these days! If I tell him no or take away something he's not suppose to have he will usually bend down to the ground and starst banging his head on it. CRAZY kid!! Then he cries more because it hurts! He also likes to throw things. Sippy cups, food, crayons, toys... if he's not getting his way. We (who am i kidding... mike is such a softy) I will send him to time out for a minute or so then go in and discuss what got him sent there, he says sorry, we hug and kiss and he will usually go pick up the thing he threw or go start playing nicely but sometimes it takes 2-3 trips to time out before he starts listening. Sometimes we aren't that consistent with the time out and I told mike he is never going to learn unless we are SUPER consistent so we're working on that.
Listening is our biggest issue right now. Everyone says its appropriate for his age but it can really stress me out! It makes me sad because some days it feels like Im constantly getting on to him and I hate it! I know its just a rough time and it will get better but man this parenting thing can be HARD! :)

*He usually plays well with other kids and for the most part does a good job sharing. He has his moments though when its Mine! mine! mine! again... age appropriate so what do you do.

* I love seeing him with paxton. They really love eachother! I hope they include Harper just as much when she gets a little older and can run around with them :)

We love our little guy so much and just can't get enough of him!! We are excited to explore KC as a family and enjoy the endless amount of things to do here! I know this post is overwhelming and I know I left out so much information! I really plan to keep up with it more... I know I've said it a million times. I love reading the blogs and Im jealous of all the good bloggers out there who post daily. I have no life so there is no reason I can't do one a WEEK if not more! I want family to be able to check the blog often and keep up to date with what we're doing!

peace dudes.
